Default Web Position Gold/iBusiness Promoter

Has anyone any feedback on the merits of Web Position Gold or a product like iBusiness Promoter.
I've always used WPG and find it useful - but of course i back it up with manual submissions etc...Must say it's always been good and I'm happy with it to date.

iBusiness Promoter seems to be getting good reviews - has anyone used it?

Are these products and they're type getting dated though?

opinion/feedback would be great

Some are against Google's guidelines:

Quote:
Don't use unauthorized computer programs to submit pages, check rankings, etc. Such programs consume computing resources and violate our Terms of Service. Google does not recommend the use of products such as WebPosition Gold™ that send automatic or programmatic queries to Google.

Gavin that's exactly where I'm coming from. However they say : "Google does not recommend the use of " ...i dont think they are strictly banned.
I'm just wondering will Google penalise people who use them - historically they haven't.
Do other SEO experts still use these?

Google doesn't normally specify products or companies but when they do its usually for a good reason. If it has been named in their guidelines then I would stay well clear of that product.

I'm not sure how you know this. Usually that's information they don't release.
