Default Link Question...

Hi guys,
I put a great link with good anchor text in it on a very authoritive site. Now my questions is:

I can see the last time Google crawled their authoritive site was yesterday, and Google has not crawled my site since sept 1st.

So my question is, seeing as Google crawled the authoritive site yesterday and has not been to mine in almost a month, would that link count? Or is the link juice kept pending until the next crawl of my site as well?

IIRC links/PR have a direct effect on how often the site gets crawled, so if that link has a measurable effect on your link juice you should see Gbot turn up more regularly.

Thank you for replying - however this does not answer my question.

I would like to know if the link would count for my site if Google crawled the authoritive site where the link to my site is situated BEFORE it crawled my site?

Thanks

have you checked your logs, I've found the info at times in the webmaster console a little off. Have a look at the date that googlecache is showing ? That is also a good indicator.

Crawled doesn't mean indexed. Google will often check back on pages to see if there are updates, to see how the page changes over time, etc.

If the cache version is so old, i.e. 2 months old, I'd say either google thinks your pages are of lower quality or it's in progress still.

Check other pages not just the home page.

Thanks... Good advice. Some pages have been updated more recently
