    Default Permanent domain forwarding?

If I was developing a site for, say, a grocery shop in Dublin called 'Great Grocers', and the owner wanted to use the domain www.greatgrocers.ie, would it benefit to also register a more keyword rich domain like dublingroceries.com or dublingroceries.ie and forward the search traffic to greatgrocers.ie?

I am assuming that searches in Google etc. for "groceries dublin" would list those two sites very high. Or am I wrong?

Or would this be frowned upon by search engines for any reason?

You need links to them too, if you want them to rank, they won't just rank because they have a keyword in the domain name.
