Thread: can google think 2 sites are linked?

hi guys

i had a site with another guy and we decided to go our seperate ways
i copied the first site to a different domain (changing only the title and contact details) to keep me going for a few months while i got totally new content ready for myself.
6 months later and i cant get anywhere on google with the new site while he is on top of the lists for a variety of terms.i just noticed that every time they crawl my site they crawl his on the exact same day a few hours later.

could they have the 2 sites linked in some fashion because they were clones for a time?

i requested reconsideration on webmaster tools a month ago and explained the situation but have heard nothing back.

has anyone come across this before?

have you changed more the title and contact details yet?

I assume you aren't using the same hosting account?

The site is older too so that may have an impact..I'm not sure if it would qualify having that big of an impact though...but good luck in sorting this out

yeah i have totally changed everything now
and it is different hosting as well
can the extra year in the age of the domain have a real impact?
