I have been trying to find out how many posts do you have to make before your signature links appear. Does Anyone know?

Well I do, obviously

The problem we have been having is that a lot of people are joining the forum just to get a signature link, so I've been tweaking the settings.

I haven't implemented the changes as yet (too busy with my real job) but I will be changing it so that only active members have signatures, as I'm sick of the drivebys

Hi

it depends on the forums policies, some may allow signatures as soon as you register and some may ask for minimum no of posts to activate the signature

I have thought about this a lot and I like the idea of having to earn links... I think starting out you might be required to post 10 times before you earn links... Say maybe three links after 10 posts or something like that. Then maybe you could earn more after 100 links or so. Thanks for asking.

The requirement of a certain amount of posts is in theory a good idea, but then you run the risk of posts quality running down. On a forum Frihost community forums and web hosting support you get free hosting completely ad free (I swear I don't work for them or promote, just explaining) after you get 5 posts and so many frih points (longer your post the more points you get, max 5) , but here's the thing, after each day your frih points are minus one point. If all your points get minus and you don't come back and be an active member you lose your hosting.
Its a pretty good idea I think.
