| Hi, Recently working with a client on their sales strategy for a new website, which I am not looking to promote in this forum in case any eyebrows are raised. I submitted the site to Google, the site was visited back in late Sept and since that time, nothing, nada, zip. I have posted a query on Google Webmaster Help where you can see some dialogue from Robbo(who responded to my plea) and also some feedback from the developer who has worked on the site (OS Commerce platform). Appreciate any feedback if you think Robbo is correct or is the build affecting Google. There are no "no follow commands" that I can see and initial response possibly rules out questions about javascript but the jury is out at this stage as to where the problem lies!! Ta Trevor |

| I had this same problem with godaddy on one site last year. Goo came indexed and left - then the site never appeared in Google indexes anywhere. tried loads of things to see problem - eventually took down and put up on another host and has been fine since then. But I have 50+ domains with GD and they host about 1/2 of them and no others have ever given me a problem.

Also how old is the site? What other domain names are pointing to the same site? How old are the domains, were they registered by anyone else previously? Were there websites on them previously? I would suggest creating a Google sitemap if you haven't already. |

Get the redirects sorted, fix the canonical URL, and get some decent backlinks. Then I'm sure you'll get indexed. Rgds Richard

| One other point looking in the HTML source of the site there are quite a few OScommerce html comments in the code. I would probably remove this for two reasons. 1.) They give automated bots the information they need to try and exploit your site. If someone really wants to hack your site they can probably tell what it is, if they know enough about different Open Source software, but at least it doesn't give the bots anything to make their job easier. I noticed this particularly with Joomla / Wordpress. You become a spam magnet. 2.) Imagine for a minute you own a search engine and you want to weed out low quality websites. There are thousands of poor quality (as much as there are really good quality) websites built with open source content managment systems. Alot of the time they lack any kind of quality content or are domain name place holders. Or they just lack information in general. The more space taken up in your database / data center the more money it costs you. Google has a supplemental index, but they stopped letting people know results were supplemental a while ago. |

| Thks all for the feedback. I was aware of the issue on the backlinks as the site is very new, only 8 weeks old but I had been through this process before without add links and found the site indexed, at least for its name, not products within 3-4 weeks whilst I was building links in the background. This is the first time that there was no visibility even for the most specifc of terms....swift2print. I have passed on all the code related comments to the developer so once again thanks for all the input. |

| forgot to add, for "gav240z" sitemap was submitted and domain names were not previously owned by anyone. Have been working on links but that was not an issue in the past for get indexed on at least the company name. |

| You can watch ( and learn ) from this : Damien Mulley Blog Archive Mirror mirror on the wall, who’s the greatest SEO of them all? All competing sites are new so...ask around the guys ( or girls ) who own them .... |

| I have the same problem with a site I have Google has yet to pick it up. I have links to the site and it placed in several directories. Yahoo and MSN have it but not google |

| Site is now indexed and I have to assume it was just a time issue. Passed on all the developer related comments to the development company but no real changes were completed. I did add some business related links and 1 of these had appeared as a reference when searching in Google prior to the site being indexed itself. Thanks for all the feedback todate. |
