Default Helping people find my blog

    Good evening ya'll,
I wasn't sure to put this here or under the blogging forum.

If anybody has a spare minute could you check my blog and see if I could optimise it any better?

    What have I done?
I've coded up to 508+AAA standard with a few little things to be changed.
Have a few links back from other photographers
Keep my sig in forums up to date with the last two entries
Added the 'bookmark & share' buttons to entries
    Reply to comments fairly often
After every new post I use ping-o-matic

    Things I plan to do.
    - Make an 'RSS' button more accessible soon
    - Post more frequently

    Thanks in advance!!
    Kyle

Well my name, anything photography related and I'd be pushing more towards Irish readers. I may try get into tutorials a bit more too so I might start pushing those keywords.

    Cheers James!

    Default Your Blog

This has been an old trick, but I guess directory submission is still a good way to optimise your site. And yo never mentioned so doing it so I guess you have to do a little directory submission.

    Just a thought.

You have great photos on your site, but maybe you could try and include the word "photography" in your blog post titles; I have also notice a post about blogging; I'm not sure this is a good idea as your blog is about photography not blogging. Maybe keep the blogging issues for this forum?

You could also use categories and tags to your advantage -
For example a couple of your categories are:

    Landscape
    Macro
    Portrait/Modelling
    Sports

Could each of those categories validly be followed by the word 'photography'?

If you do go changing your categories, be careful to change the slug as well as the name and to ensure you implement a redirect from the old urls to the new ones.

You could also use tags if you wanted to include a second layer of categorisation and include some photography related terms.

Engaging with the wider photography blog scene would, in time, reap benefits. Consider blogging about other photography blogs or photos on other blogs that you like and building a relationship with the larger community over time.

    Nice site by the way

    Hi,

You can also submit RSS feed of your blog to RSS directories.
