| Another vote for scp I'd always use WinSCP, as do a lot of people I imagine WinSCP :: Download rsync is here: rsync download Looks fairly straight forward

| If you have SSH access to the server you are moving to, you can login and copy the files directly server to server. Even with FTP, this should be multiples faster than downloading local and back up again. |

yes you could. But then i find it always better to do a local backup as you go anyway.. Best plan of action... use ftp like filezilla to download/upload the files. and use shell to restore the database. |
