I'm working on a largish website at the moment and I'm wondering what people are using to stress test their websites ? or do ye bother ?

That sounds a bit more like unit testing ? than stress testing or am I wrong ?

I was more thinking along the lines of ...

More on the code and the then response times ...

Basically I'd like to install locallly here and test against my own machines ... yes I know real world figures will be different. Shared hosting and so on ... still ...

Idea is to throw 1 user "simulated" at it ... for a minute .. casual browsing .. then to throw 20 ... 50 ... 100
Not so much a unit test to make sure things are working more a ... how sluggish does everything get test.
