| Hi, Im installing a new colo server and need to install sql server, however i cant find out a difinitive answer on licencing costs for shared hosting environment. The server will be a windows 2003 standard dual or quad core server with sqlserver 2005 stadard. I presume i need a device access licence rather than a cal. I was reading that if the users that are connecting are not windows syste accounts then pricing is cheaper. The database will be accessed by the websites operating on 2 servers and ( i think just a web based admin panel ) ie no direct access outside the firewall. ) and using enterprise manager on the server. perhaps some of the other hosts that are on these forums may be able to help. |
