Default Subdomains on Test Enviroment

Wondering if anyone knows if its possible to setup subdomains on a test environment, I'm using http://192.168.0.5 to access the root directory of the site but need to work on integrating a subdomain from the main site, can this be done in the ht access file?

You have two options (though someone may come up with a better solution)

If you're using external dns to manage the domain / subdomain then you need to get the subdomain pointed to your external IP

Since you're already on your own LAN the other option would be to simply handle the domain resolution locally using your hosts file (or similar)

I guess it depends on whether you want the subdomain to be accessible to the public

Its just all locally for development, i know when i put it live on hosting i can just use the cpanel to redirect the subdomain to the correct folder.
