Default New wedding related site

A small marketing project originally designed to promote our on-line wedding planner but which we have decided to spin out on its own.

When is my wedding

We are on the last few steps before making it ready to go live. What i am aware of is the date on the home page preview needs to live update and the sponsor sign up form needs to go live.

Anything else i have missed? Any feedback in general?

A note to say the back end was developed in Ruby on Rails on Blacknights new offering. Olivier Ansaldi did the development and asked all the right questions during the process. If you are looking for a developer i cannot recommend him enough.

Looks good, the option boxes on the first screen look a bit messed up on FF2.

Someone shouldn't be able to guess how popular your site is
When is my wedding hints that there has been only 8 other ones before me. Maybe it should be a random number/hash.

A very big problem is that I cant change the month or year unless I change the date first. What happens if my wedding is on 26 March 2007?

I would also say that the error messages are very easy to miss.

On FF2 the font-size used in the inputs is too large - I cant see the number.

Image attached.

Edit that. Image attached but bastardised by board software.

Can you explain this problem? You should be able to change any independently.

You are setting the focus on the date input. When I try to select the month the normal behaviour would be click once on the month dropdown and then scroll down through the list.

I cant do this though - as soon as the blur event hits the date input you seem to be forcing focus back upon it. I cant see the functions that is causing this however.

TBH I think prototype/scriptaculous may be a little bit of overkill to achieve the functionality you want. Looking at your own scripts I would think you could write most of that functionality and save on the 273Kb page weight. I could be wrong, but the only uses I see are grabbing input variables, updating DOM textnodes and images elements, and shaking the response? Am I missing something?

I wasn't too fond of the shake effect. Just my opinion.

It's a nice idea though.

I have tracked this down to a Firefox bug. It was not intentional. Looking for a work around now.

I didn't realise there was a shake effect. I have tried reproducing it but no joy. I will talk to Olivier about it.
Thanks again.

Shake effect appears on second page after you submit your email.

Default Email reminder

I love the idea and your planned whenismybabydue site. I expect that they will do very well. You could try adding email reminder system (like birthdayalarm.com) and also add a more interactive and personalised webpage for each users link.

Default Thanks for the feedback!

Hi guys,

thanks very much for the feedback! I have acted upon most of the comments, but a couple are still outstanding. Hopefully, not for too long.

Keep them coming!

Olivier.
