  • Poor layout with no grid and no focal point or segregation of presentational elements
  • Poor, basic page elements that don't attract any attention
  • Design uninspiring overall
  • No character encoding
  • Tags should be lowercased
  • Tables shouldn't be used for layout
  • Font tags shouldn't be used - use CSS instead
Sorry to be so harsh John, but there really aren't any positives to the site and you asked for feedback.

I agree. From a design point of view it's awful. There's no fluidity to the design. The colours do not work at all. As already pointed out, it could do with a grid structure for the layout. Also try adding some graphics to lift the pages a bit. There's not much there at the moment.

it's a start, an awful one, but it's a start.
You can do better than that. Nobody will take you serious with that layout.
Also you have the buy button that send you to PayPal, but there is no price tag there. Hello, how much before I click on this button?

Having said that, it's a first attempt John so don't be disheartened. Web design is something that shouldn't be taken lightly as a skill. It's takes years to master! There are tonnes and tonnes of resources available online.

Michele, do we have a useful links for Web design sticky on IWF?

Hey John,
I'm afraid I'd have to agree with most of the posts above. It's quite a bad site to put it nicely. It's far too square and something you'd expect from a transition year class. What you might be best off doing is going here, and then modifying it a bit.

Sure you can always post up questions and you'll get a response.
