| www.vaveeva.com For any number of reasons.... Their tell-a-friend script is "mailto&subject=www.vaveeva.com" Their company registration number is 123456 - http://www.vaveeva.com/aboutus.aspx Misspellings everywhere Illegibly small grey font on white background White links on a white background - http://www.vaveeva.com/podcasts.aspx Horizontal scroll on blog pages in Firefox - http://www.vaveeva.com/blog.aspx?id=115 - In fact the site fails completely in Firefox Logo doesn't link to homepage Images on Gallery are simply resized versions of the original rather than thumbnails - http://www.vaveeva.com/gallery.aspx The completely ridiculous claim that "It is now expected that the number of monthly visitors to the site will hit 100,000 by mid-February" (Migrant website Vaveeva doubles visitor targets: ThePost.ie) - So 2 months or so after launch they expect to be nipping on the heels of sites such as Monster (158k) and Pigsback (271k) (Daft.ie : Daft.ie ABC Audit for September 2006) Also for the claim that they generated 16k visitors on an AdWords budget of $500..which works out at approximately 3c per AdWord click through - And I did a check of phrases such as 'moving to ireland', 'relocating to ireland' etc in Google and not one returns an ad for Vaveeva . Why do I dislike this site? Besides the obvious complete failure of it's 'design' I dislike it because for the last 4 years I as a web designer have suffered dismal wages that came about as a result of the dot com crash, a crash that was caused by sites over-inflating their stats to a public that were more than happy to believe them. For some reason I thought web 2.0 had brought about a sense of realism but then I read claims like this and realise some people learned nothing. Last edited by dubl1nguy112; 25-01-2007 at 12:25 PM. |

| The images in the header bear a striking resemblance to ones taken by a Polish blogger Dzienniki Irlandzkie MacKozer’a » Dublin po raz kolejny i kolejny - parada gejów i lesbijek compare that to their header image (attached) Oddly similar, aren't they? And I know he didn't give Vaveeva permission to take his images.

Considering the 'middleweight' pedigree of the site founders/backers this site has me speechless. I really would have expected better. |

| Krystian used to share the house with me in Carlow and approached me about the situation the other day

| He's probably in a better position than most to do something about it considering he's Polish and he Blogs! He should just do a screen grab and write a blog about it. I'm sure they wouldn't want to be seen by their Polish visitors to be ripping off a fellow Poles work. |

| I am embarrassed to admit that the use of Krystian's photos was down to a mistake in the agency I work for (my mistake really). Vaveeva didn't know about it until last week, and then they contacted us to make sure that Krystian received fair payment for use of his photos. So whatever about design, or usability issues - they aren't to blame for using Krystian's pics. |

| I came across this in an adwords listing while researching local search for a blog post: Take Away Food Menus :: takeAwayFood.ie :: Home and the site designer is: Orbrio Almost funny....

| It has been mentioned before elsewhere but after trying to use it today i would like to suggest Ireland Job-Bank Online An unusable error ridden piece of crap. After trying to add a job last night and getting repeated "Error, go back and submit again or come back later" I log in today to see multiple copies of the same job. It then gets validated by a live person who comes back to let me know that two particular fields need to be filled for the submission to go live. Even though they have marked required fields ( its not one) and form validation.
