Interesting implementation...

I like the icons you've got for each forum / section, however they completely overpower the logo.

The main page is very "busy", so I really don't know where I'm meant to be going.

Lots of scrolling too, which I don't like

If you filled more of the screen space (width) you might be able to mitigate some of the other perceived issues

Where did you get the icons?

Thanks for the comments Blacknight. I get what you are saying about the 'busy' comment, I agree and I'll get around to it sometime. There is a lot of content I am trying to make visible too so there has to a compromise. The members seem to have no gripes though.

I have tested the screen at full width but I felt it lost a lot of character and uniqueness that way. It became a bit 'samey' in design to other similar forums. But again that is something I may be forced to do in future.

The logo needs work too, I have gotten similar comments before.

The icons I drew myself in Macromedia Fireworks. Took a day or two but the time and effort was worth it

Nice site and those icons both stand out and look cool. You could probably sell those icons you know!

Scolling can be a bit of a pain but your target market ('green-fingers' rather than 'tech-savvy') might not be too bothered by that at all.

Very nice looking site.

I presume you are the frakilk of seo-ireland handle? What ever happened to your forum? Are you still in the SEO business?

Yep the very same. I just simply did not have any time to maintain it any longer. It was a shame too as I had met some really nice people through it I just do SEO entirely for my own sites now. It's much more fun that way
