First really nice site, really good job I quite like.

Nice design and very well coded!

few points nothing major at all

in your footer you are missing the ; on the ©

SEO wise try and use unique meta descriptions as well as the unique titles you already have on each page, and I presume you will be sticking a blog or something in the articles section which will help fill your site up with nice relevant content.

Accessibility wise you have an odd tab index order on your contact form, 1,6,11,16 why not 1,2,3,4? also maybe a hidden jump to content link for the screen readers so I don't have to listen to the navigation twice on every page.

Thats about all I saw, good work!

oh and this ...
Code:
Info: Doctype given is "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN"
Info: Document content looks like XHTML 1.0 Strict

Thanks for your comments, they are much appreciated. The tab indexes were set like that so an extra field could be inserted if required without having to change the other indexes. I will look into your other points and see how I can improve things.

Nice and simple, I like it. - Just 1 thing, why do you have a mirrored nav on the left?

I like the design too, nice job. The white works really welll with that background colour. Just a couple of comments (design)...

1) There might be a tad too much space at the top... if you look at it on 1024 x 768 res there is a vert scroll... you could get rid of this scroll if some of the space was removed up top.

2) It also might be interesting to see how it would look without the ipx black stroke around the grey content box

3) Was also wondering about the mirrored nav... might be best to keep just 1 nav... possibly the vert 1 on the left (with slightly bigger font)

Only my opinion not necessarily right

Nice job though

Cheerio

Nice job.

You are using a fix height and that makes the form on your contact page overflow if any errors shows up on submission.
Can you add a style to the error message (like red) as being the same as your text color doesn't stand out and a user wouldn't know what the hack is going on....

Also if I don't fill in all the fields and I have an error, I am loosing all values so I have to start again from scratch and you are not checking the email to be valid either.
You just got an useless message from be.
Add a captcha as well...

2 navigations can't be right.
I'd also think about what action you want your visitor to take. Do you want them to contact you?? ofcourse you do, so spell it out.

A couple of things that might would be worth having a gander at:
  • In IE6, the right column is knocked out of line.
  • You should use relative sizing for fonts to improve accessibility

Am going to agree with everyone else here, you need to remove the second (or first) navigation menu. It feels like you're searching for filler for your layout with both. Maybe just stick to a search box in the top right(where the horizontal menu is), but only if your site is going to be big enough... i.e. if you have a blog or something like that.

And yup the layout is broken in IE6 in XP.

Thanks for all your input and sorry about the delay in replying but I've been very busy of late. The horizontal navigation has been removed and I hope to implement more of your suggestions over the next while. I'm aware of the IE6 issue, I just hate that browser so much it's been hard to motivate myself to fix it lol. Trying to decide how to incorporate the blog into the layout at the minute, but hopefully you will be able to see more changes soon. Thanks for all the feedback everyone.
