| And how are you redesigning the site? Are you completely revamping it? Changing the colour palette of the site? I find the original one a lot easier to read than the second one. Plus, what's the name of the company? The two logos have a different identity from one another. The logos really need to seen in context to the site redesign. |

| Hi Cormac The companies name is "Republic PR". Which logo do you find easier to read, the one in blue?Is it simplier to read just when your looking at the thumbnails? I'm just playing around with palette at the moment, so the colours of the second logo may change. I just chose the green, white and gold to embody "republic". In my head I'm thinking of giving the company a blog sort of feel. Last edited by Drang3d; 27-03-2008 at 10:03 AM. |

| Did they ask you to change the logo or you doing this off your own bat? Working with a bad logo on a site is a nightmare but sometimes there is just nothing you can do... you just have to go with it. By all means, try and persuade them to change the logo but don't waste time designing a logo if they haven't commissioned it. You're not just changing a logo for their site... you're getting involved in a complete rebrand... business cards, stationery, brochures, everything. I do sometimes try and get a client to "modernise" their logo and if they agree, I bring in one of the graphic design guys I work with and they deal with the client on all aspects. It stays out of my hands but I give them some direction of how I'd like to see it working on the web and they send me final designs once approved by client. Failing that... you work with what you've got... which can be really painful! Rgds, Dave p.s. I do prefer your version of the logo btw

| Cheers David Yeah to be honest, the first logo, the owner knocked up himself in word. He's adamant it's staying that way. I'm doing it of my own bat as the owner is a friend. I don't mind the colours of the first one, although they might need to be changed slightly to compliment each other. I just think the PR at the start of the logo makes the companies name confusing. It looks more like "Prepublic" rather than "Republic PR". |

| Sometimes clients can be a pain in the rear and narrow minded, but if you cannot convince him otherwise just stick with what he has and leave your option opened - he will come back to you - hope sooner than later. BTW - I'll go for the second one as well.

| 2nd logo, by a long shot. I'm guessing whatever we say here won't make much difference. I read Pee Republic for the first one as well, without having read the thread.
