| It doesn't display properly in Firefox. The menus are off centre The images don't seem to be aligned properly, so it's hard to work out what you are meant to be looking at

| For a first attempt it's better than a lot of sites I've seen, but coming from a designer I have to say the design is quite bad. I can see where you are trying to go with the black/silver/gold colour scheme, but it needs a lot of work. Some general tips... 1) Changing the background/rollover colours in the two menus from purple and red respectively to gold would make a big difference. At the moment there are too many colours (for example on the "Sell Avon" page, I would remove the yellow, pink and green highlighting as this is the first design sin!). 2) I wouldn't mix fonts so much. You have sans-serif fonts in the top menu and other areas and then you have a serif font (Times?) used in the menu on the left and throughout the site for headings etc. This can throw a design off straight away EDIT: This is a very handy tool for sampling fonts for use on screen... Typetester – Compare fonts for the screen 3) Not sure why the "Contact Us" page needs to open in a new window/tab? Hope this helps! Last edited by ButtermilkJack; 25-04-2008 at 07:24 AM. | Thank you ButtermilkJack, It does help a lot.I'll start doing the changes tonight and I hope it gets better. Thank you as well for the link...very useful. The Contact page loads in a new window...I don't know why... Thank you again and yes...I DO have a lot to learn ( if only the day would have 30 hours instead of 24...) Cheers, Raul. |
