Hi guys,
I havent made a website before, but used phpbb3 to make this forum. I'm fairly happy with it so far, and have about 74 members since about 1 or 2 weeks ago when I made it. I know the site name is a bit long, and was thinking on shortening it (FAG.com doesnt really work though)

what about filmandgame.com

All the site is at the moment is phpbb3. Look into adding some portal system to allow you to add more content and a more user friendly navigational method.

I used integramod for my phpbb2 site, PaintBaller.ie - The Home of Paintball in Ireland

Is it easy to install phpbb portal on your site, and does it allow you to just transfer over your original site into it?

Ya it is fairly easy once you have not installed any mods on your forum or changed your database much.

Generally, follow the instructions step by step and you will be fine.

I am not away of phpbb3 portals though. There is one irish developed one, can't remember the name of it now.

hmm i do have a few mods installed. I think that I might backup the whole thing and give it a go, and if it doesnt work, I'll get rid of the mods and try it again. thanks for the advice

also - phpbb portal say its for use with phpbb olympus - I presume that it will just work with a normal phpbb3 board?

what does it allow you to do anyway? I see on your board you have like a calender, and link to other parts of the website on the left - is it basically that it allow you to build a website and stick the forum into it?

olympus is the code name for phpbb3 I think, so it should be ok.

Essentially, www.integramod.com is what I used (highly recommended) and it allows one with limited html knowledge to build a large, feature rich website around their forum system.

I can add extra pages such as:
The Paintball Map
Barrage Paintball, Pudden Hill Activity Center, Ashborune

If you register you can see even more stuff such as a shout box, polls on the front page etc.

cool thanks. and does it use your current style, or do you have to reinstall your style once you've installed the portal, or do you have to use a "portal-specific" mod once its installed?

It will usually adapt your current template. However if it comes with its own templates in the template folder, it might have a different default.
