Default Portfolio Website

Just put together a quick portfolio website http://www.skynet.ie/~diarmuid/portfolio/. I'd appreciate any comments you have on the design/layout. And yes I know that there is very little content so far ... .
Cheers

Think this is a case in point for using spell check/education!
Thanks for pointing that out Blacknight. What do you think of the overall design?

It doesn't tell us anything about you.

Who you are.

What you do
What you'd like to do etc., etc

The color change links on the bottom left hand side don't really add much , they change some of the smoke color and the h1 colors. I was expecting something with regards to the background, as many people don't really link black backgrounds, this made sense to me.

Maybe you could use lightbox for the larger images of the websites you've done.

just my 2 cents ...

its black ... for a webdesign portfolio .. I think its too dark ...

The smoke doesn't make too much sense to me ... they are great images .. spaced out looking at the photographers flickr site some great pictures in there.

As paul said ... the bottom color links don't do enough in my opinion ...

Please contact you if I'd like a copy of your Resumé ? erm how ? ... no links given (maybe I've missed your original brief)

So all in all ... you're using smoke images from someone else ? (unless you're the photographer in question) ?? ... and you've only got two items in there .. the funky monkey stuff which no longer exists ? I also think the text you're using ... while actual text ... could be a lot nicer if you opted to use a fancy font of some sort. doing a replace on your h1 or similar with an image could be a good option.

Not too keen on the italics in your portfolio / résumé

I also don't really know if that many people have splash pages these days ? most just want to get into the bones of the site ?

as I said just my two cents ... don't take it to heart
