Get them to sort it sooner rather than later

yeah I know. but it's not up to me unfortunately :/ if it was I'd be spending money all over the place to get things done properly and have a good base to start from. ok not all over the place but you know what I mean. I need a good base to start from! Anyway.

and since I am just a n00b I have to ask to set my mind at ease. mod_rewrite is basically redirecting right? how is that good for SEO? for the bots I mean. For the humans I can see. But from what I've read redirecting is bad minus those few that are good like if you want to exclude sites from being indexed and having 40something redirects.

I hope that made sense.

you want free translators, and this is a business? sorry I know you're a 'noob' but that site is a mess. No suggestions or improvements on that layout are going to make it a professional site. Your boss needs to open his wallet, that site would put me off any business, it looks crowded on my 24"

You have an amatuer site, while charging professional fees

Until you are willing to get proper translations done remove the junk from the site.

The Spanish, Italian and French on there is terrible. Dire. Unacceptably bad.

There are some thing I have no control over. But I am and have been trying to get the higher powers to do something.

I cant see how having an amateur or professional site has any connection whatsoever with learning a language and what it costs.

I think its more a case that a poorly designed site will reflect badly on the business. Also poor english / french / german ... and so on .. won't really inspire confidence with potential clients. If ye really can't afford it I'd almost say throw links to google translate of the pages at least ye can't be blamed for the poor translations and ye can just call it an aid. Also its going to be a nightmare to keep all languages updated. I've worked on a project with 14 languages and in a way its hell having to wait for one translator or another before you can go live with the site.

They are charging professional rates
75 for 4 hours ... roughly 20euro an hour.
The class will have 1 - 4 people thats potentially 80ish euro an hour

Yet they won't get professional translators to translate the content ?
( Doesn't really reflect well on the site having poorly written content ... I know ... I've been pulled up on it before on my site by a few people )

The pricing seems a bit weird as well ... 4 weeks minimum yet ye list 1 week and 2 week ? in there ? (this is for the original poster)

Don't take it all personally whatever you do ... It can be easy in situations like this to... Blame your boss and show him this thread
