Default My custom soundtrack site

Hi guys,
With the help of one of the lads from here, I've finished my soundtrack site. I'm by no means a coder or anything like that - I used NVU to edit most of it. Forbairt helped me with the overall template of it
Music For Media

I'm fairly happy with the name, and really happy with the "clean" look of the site. Nothing over the top, and all functions fine.

Its a fairly basic site, but let me know what you think

Hey Emmett congrats on getting it all up and running

Its a steep learning curve when you're starting of ...

I see the design changed quite a bit from the inital mockup which had a bit of a different feel to it - Music For Media - The Emmett Cooke Story

Still you've a new name now ... soundtrack so I think you need to do something about your logo.

Also ... the colours aren't really working too well for me anymore. Not to mention the photo. With the comic style buttons front and center the whole feel really changes quite a bit. Might be an idea to go bubbley with the corners on things and so on curvyCorners - Ultimate Rounded Corners.

Still its up ... and you've actually got some great tunes in there I do like my piano I do

Yea I see what you mean. Thinking about it, the header doesn't really suit it, as the comic style icons, and the nature background in the header are a bit out of place.

Will have a think about that...also will think about a logo

Where should I put the logo? Would you usually put it in the header? I know for the original one you did for me you put in the Music for Media title in the header, but would you usually put the logo in the header aswell - or instead of the title in the header?

You have more experience with this - I'm trying to think of websites I know with logo's and I'm not too sure do they usually put it in the header (I'm probably being stupid lol)

Yea, its taken long enough for me to get the site up...about 6months I'd say lol? Buying the domain took half of the time, then finding the time to edit the site, and figure out what stuff to put into it....and the fact I have the attention span of a spoon and get bored within 2 seconds of doing something lol

Music is great as has already being said. I agree with Forbairt about the mixture in styles between traditional and comic design.

I know that the music is your product but I don't like the media player playing automatically on each page load. It's quite annoying having to stop the media player when I'm browsing the site. It also defaults back to the first song each time on each load. I would probably place a media player in the sidebar and give the user the responsibility of pressing play rather than making them press stop.

Yea that is kind of annoying alright - must do something with that - might look into getting another music player for it from somewhere so that you can choose from a playlist and not have it auto load, although i think you can do that with the current one

When you say theres a mixture in styles between traditional and comic design I understand what you mean - do you think changing the header to something more "comicy" would solve that problem - like creating a logo, and putting it into a rounder corner plain white header?
