Nice design. Clean and simple. Good use of imagery...

However. It doesn't render very well in firefox3 on OSX.

Check out Test your web design in different browsers - Browsershots so that you can see how its going to look in the most common browsers. very handy.

Look at your image sizing and the positioning of items near the bottom cos that's the worst of it.

The demographic for that site should be easy enough to please though so I reckon your on to a winner.

    Default karl herbert site

Thanks for the comments - i was more worried about the look rather than the rendering - silly misstake seen as the both are related - I have made some ammendments to the style sheet so should layout correctly. padding with absolute widths was causeing the problem but one of the lads from baords.ie mentioned that nested divs and setting overflow to hidden would resolve this. What does the overflow achieve ??

Anyhow really appreciate the comments all very constructive and very helpful!

Much better - Don't like the bit in the middle column though - The laptop picture? Looks out of place. But nice look overall.

what would you think as a replacement - just a brighter pic or something completely different

just didnt want long reams of text and thought the image broke it up nicely

Don't quite know - it just doesn't look right - Though I think that might be mostly because the length of that column is different from the others. Wait until a few others comment on it to see what the consensus is.
