Thread: Need help with choosing header for site

Hi guys,
I recently changed around my website by getting a different free template for it (don't hate me I suck at coding )

Soundtrack.ie - Custom Soundtracks

Basically I'm in the middle of changing everything around on it - lets call a spade a spade - it looks pretty crap right now. I like the overall layout of it, and think it suits what I want.

I want to change the header as it doesnt suit it. I've been looking around on the deviant art website and theres some really cool free pictures on it. I know I'm probably not on the right track but what do you think of these ideas?



I should probably be going for something more musical in the image right? I just want something thats really simple ..i know the one with the girl in it doesnt make much sense...made more sense to me at the time lol. Its wrecking my head - I want to use that logo and font...

any ideas appreciated

my personal opinion would be to go for the girl ...

But what are the usage restrictions on that image ?

Heres two more ones that I tried. I really like the blood one as its really dramatic, but I'm still not too sure if it works well or not

I like the girl one as a photo, and the background, but I've no idea what it has to do with the site. At least the piano, at a stretch, is music-related.

The logo is hard to read on all the photos, though (mainly because of the colours).

I went for the girl in the end - if you look at the current site now, you will see how I incorporated it - I used the slogan "music speaks louder than words" (her mouth is taped up)

I like the overall look of it, but I agree that it doesnt really suit it too much.
However, it will do for now at least - its better than what it was like beforehand anyway

Much clearer with that tag line alright, and photl sits right in. You've also cleaned up colour logo to make it much easier to read. Looks well!

You might want to tidy up a glitch, and some hard corners as indicated in the arrows of this grab.. http://cgarvey.ie/files/webcasts/2008-09-09_2042.png (good for a week)

yea i actually noticed those corners recently - they arent well rounded - must sort those out
