Thread: Please review my site color.

The color of my site has always been an issue for some and while I like to be different, I sometimes feel like giving in to the pressure and having the same bright colored site as everyone else.

Recently, one or too people have again questioned the darkness of my site so can I have some opinions please!?

Before you do heres why its black!:

• Just to be different and to get remembered.
• A lot of Studio/Multimedia type sites seem to be dark.
• I designed it to look a little like an iphone which is a style icon!?
• Don't silver and black go well together!?
• In terms of readability isn't white on black just as good contrast as black on white (remember blackboards!?)

While I like dark websites - though I normally avoid black in my projects - It tends to have too much contrast. I aim to use 333333 as my darkest colour. Same when I use a white or off-white background - I aim to use 333333 as the font colour.

Anyway, while I like dark - I hate silver. especially chrome silver. But that's just me.

any colour can look well if the design is solid.

Instead of solid black perhaps a gradient image would suit this style better. I'm no graphic designer though. I kinda prefer the darker than the brighter though,

I like your site. I use the Blogger template "Minima Black" as colours stand out so vividly, as they do in your work. Also it gives a fashionable "Japanesy" look. I think that the cultural aspects of blog design are important. Black gives a young and edgy atmosphere in many cases. It can also be very easy on the eye, as in this site: séparateurs pour blogs a fond noir "spécial noel" French sites use black a lot. A web search for "fond noir", using the image search, should give some interesting links for comparison with your site. I would not change it.

Personally I prefer the dark version. The site is quiet nice, very clean and easy to use.

The design isn't solid in light mode.
