I think you should go for the search.ie logo, but it will be better if you can mix it with the vbulletin as well. Just an opinion.

Personnally I like the vBulletin look, probably just take out the logo on the top left. I done a simple look for www.diets.ie a recent forum

It's also a trademark, so I can't really combine it with anything

As you said it is the trademark of this forum, but you can have the search.ie smaller on the top.
At least you know is the Search.ie - vBulletin forum
