I have been working from home for the past 6 years or so and am well used to it now.

PROS: No commuting, flexibility, lower overheads

CONS: Go stir crazy every so often so need to get out of the house, lack of social interaction with peers.

I usually meet clients in Bewleys Hotel (free Wi-Fi) if I can't meet them in their office.

regards,

Barry

I'm working between home and a temporary office space at the moment. I intend to get 'permanent' desk space in the city soon enough though. It helps focus the mind and I can't really set up office in my apartment!

I used to work from home, but it was a killer. Moving into offices was the best thing we ever did!

I work from a home office.
I used to spend about 11/2 hours a day getting to and back from work.

My biggest downfall with a home office is trying to switch off.

With a pregnant wife and another baby on the way I might need to get some office space asap!

Yeah, switching off is a problem. babies too

A friend of mine got a Seomra (cost about 20k) at the end of his garden and is very happy with it. Don't think I would go that far though, I have an attic I can convert.

I looked at that option, though I think it might be like a red rag to a bull unfortunately.

Working from home is great - I walk past the computer in the morning switch it on and I am ready to go from about 8am onwards. I am a morning person and get my best work done before 2pm. Also this way I don't have to turn up somewhere after having sat in traffic for an hour - now that drives me crazy.

And yes, I have problems switching off. If I have a new project it is far too easy to sit at the computer in the evening to see how things are going... A great way to kill relationships.

We have an office as much for high-street presence as anything. I work from home mostly though. Not being a morning person it's great to get up at 8:40, and be showered and dressed and reading emails by 9:00. I also love the peace and quiet which helps me concentrate. I do get cabin-fever occasionally on the odd Thursday when I realise I haven't left the house since the previous Sunday!
