E-mails are not "legal documents". Legal documents are documents produced by the legal society/government. Lay people can't produce "legal documents". They can be entered into Law but they are easily, easily, easily forged, even using hotmail, gmail etc. But they would be better than nothing.

60% advance sounds rich. Try collecting at milestones for work done - start, design signoff etc. Of course if you're only charging a few hundred euro though...

This doesn't work as easily as you suggest. If the client disputes the invoice you're back to square one. People aren't as easily frightened like you think. If it goes to court it will cost you - and they know that. And as for collection fees - thats up to the court. Basically the client would have to say that they were completely at wrong ... not going to happen!

dude, we all know how bad it is to collect/ sue someone - not worth the effort if money owed is less than 4k.

I was only saying in my post to use domain registered emails addresses than free ones becuase courts DO consider it! As far a forgin goes - cmon anything can be forged. I mean anything!

I get 60% advance, it depends on your company policy - dont knw what way you deal, I never had problem getting payments the way suggested - Above points work for me, if you have better idea, please free to start a new thread!!!
