Default Tieing up loose ends - Setting up a LTD.

    Hi Guys,
Im about to launch a ltd. company with a mate of mine in web as you'd expect.

I know Im made to be doing this now btw!

A few things I still haven't gotten my head around / found tactful ways of saying stuff. Can you help?

First off I have a few clients who are not really economical for a bigger company, and they are useless at paying bills. I don't really want to shift them though, how do I gently say, "this is Bob", our new support geek, rather than me who they are used to?

Also I have a few clients who are great, and really worth while. I've always liked working with them, no matter how strained relations have been sometimes, but they could consume all my time if I didn't watch it. How do you think I should time manage? Keep friendly with them, but start charging for things as with other new clients?

As for billing, I was wondering if anyone knows any good billing solutions, preferably for repeat billing hosting, etc by email and PDF. Open source would be great

    Thanks in advance,
    Byron

Clients who don't pay or are slow to pay aren't worth dealing with. If they want finance they should go to a bank

Billing solutions - I don't know of any sane open source solutions - there are a few that can handle various things, but I'm yet to see one that can really compete with one of the commercial offerings

In terms of the billing again - you'd need to be more specific in your requirements - there are plenty of solutions out there, but without knowing what you actually need I can't really point you in the right direction

I've tried a good few of the free web based billing options and Bamboo invoice has been my choice from them. It has email and pdf support and you can custimise it using php, but it does lack recurring invoices. I did a round up on a few of them a while ago, you might find one of them suits you.

    Hi Tom and Blacknight,

Thanks Tom will take a look through those.

Basically I want a solution which will allow for individual invoices to clients via PDF / Email, etc. and also re occurant ones for hosting / security / ssl certs etc.

Bamboo looks excellent, except no re-occurant billing. I could probably just presume I need to send it yearly.

    Otherwise it is perfect.
