Article Marketing Robot

Hi,
Has anyone tried using 'Article Marketing Robot' or any article submission software for that matter? Is it a good way to get backlinks?
I'm new to seo, so any feedback would be appreciated?

I'd stay very far from anything automatic to be honest.

At best it doesn't help, at worst you'll get flagged as a spammer which can be devastating.
