Creating a History Timeline using WordPress ~ can you help?

I want to creat a history timeline using wordpress with my class in school and I'm looking at something like the following:

Timeline | Felix Dennis

Can you help me figure out how I can do something similar?

I'm hoping to make the history timeline concept easier for the children to understand via the new site (if I can get it up and running).
