Dodgy captcha

Tried to get my password sent from here. Captcha verification failed several times.
Is something wrong with this captcha. Example here. Eventually I had to resort to looking in old email for my password.

Unable to replicate anymore. It's just that it rejected 5 in a row, the one above being the last one.

captcha = pain

I know that these are useful site security tool but I find them very off putting. It was the single biggest source of complaints for us. In the end, we had to remove them for our site (learnpipe) and use a different approach.

I've noticed a problem with various Catchas recently.

After a huge amount of sleuthing, I found that it was the Firebug extension for Firefox that was interfering somehow. I temporarily disabled Firebug and the captcha worked.

I can't live without Firebug, have to keep it running, hopefully this will be sorted in the next update.

If anyone is interested, I am running Firefox 3.0.12 and Firebug 1.4.0.
