    Our client is a leading provider of product life cycle services to OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers in the medical device and pharmaceutical sectors. An opportunity has now arisen for a Tool Designer / Injection Mould Toolmaker to join their team.

    This is the ideal role for a Tool Designer / Injection Mould Toolmaker looking to develop their career with a company offering scope for progression.

    As a Tool Designer / Injection Mould Toolmaker, you will be responsible for co-ordinating and reviewing the tooling and development aspects of projects. You will also liaise with internal project teams, client project teams and plant management.

    Your tasks will include reviewing the status of tooling projects and budgets, maintaining schedules and preparing status reports. You will also assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client satisfaction goals and objectives.

    You will develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, engineers and clients.

    Your other duties will include:

    - leading the implementation of complex prototype/ pre-production builds – leading complex projects related to the processing of various moulded components – delivering total cost quotes for tooling – implementing design changes and specifications

    To be considered for this position, you must have a proven track record of making injection mould tools, preferably within the medical or packaging industry.

    The ideal Tool Designer / Injection Mould Toolmaker will possess excellent communication skills and strong problem solving abilities.

    Although not essential, experience of designing low and high cavitation injection moulds would be an advantage to your application. Excellent knowledge of 3D CAM and CAD would also be advantageous.

    Our client also has a preference for candidates with a qualification in tool design, such as mechanical engineering or another relevant discipline. Strong PC and system capability skills would also be beneficial.
