The daddy of link building is Eric Ward. This guy really gets it and has been getting it for the last 15 years plus.

In a recent post he suggested and I quote:

"For highest quality content seeking links, once you have identified the highest caliber and most credible targets, it is neverme, the link builder who gets you the link, and it is neverme, the link builder who controls anchor text or any other HTML based editorial choices. It is your content that dictates the ultimate result, not me or any other merit-based link builder."

This is good advice.

Link building is misunderstood and the spammy link peddlars are further muddying the waters. Create something link worthy and you will be part way there. Create stuff people don't need or can get elsewhere and you will be stuck in the never never land of spammy links hell.

All just my humble opinion so don't shout if you disagree ;)

The easiest way to create an RSS feed is to use software. The software I would recommend is FeedForAll (there is a Windows and a Mac version). There is a built-in wizard that will walk you through the process of creating a feed. You can download an evaluation version from http://www.feedforall.comIf you prefer to create the feed by hand this website details how to hand code the RSS feed http://www.make-rss-feeds.comRSS can help with search engine optimization. Once the feed is created you can submit it to all the RSS search engines and directories at: http://www.rss-specifications.com/rss-submission.htmHTH

I find a good way of getting some basic back links is to use blog searches... there are some free tools out there to auto submit and they can get your pr up but the best approach is always to get legitimate back links to pages with good content.

There are no simple short cuts, it just takes consistent effort... that's why so few get it right!

The kind of blogs that accept automated posts are hardly going to be worth getting links from. Most blogs no follow links in comments anyway.

Of course, but a lot of older blog entries have some PR juice to give and some allow free form html in the body text... citations and links from these kinds of blogs can be useful...

You're right though, it's amazing how many spammers wordpress blogs get when by default nofollow is enabled.

RSS is okay for blogs. You distribute your feeds to feed directories and then hopefully sommeone will subscribe to them. Not all cut and dried like some people will lead you to believe. Still worth the 5 minutes it takes to set up though

ShareThis

Don't forget about sharethis and good ol' fashioned emails. You'd be surprised how quickly your name can get out there once you've made it easy for people to spread your content.

RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication". Submitting RSS feeds is a good way to increase your subscribers, visitors who visit the concerned directories may enjoy reading and thus decide to visit the parent websites. Advertising your RSS feeds can actually help your search engine rankings, both inadvertently and directly.

Also, there can arise a possibility where interesting feeds may be syndicated by fellow webmasters within the same niche. This can bring traffic from their website and at the same time there are possibilities of getting one way links too. Make sure your RSS feeds are directly relevant to the content of your site. The more relevant, unique, and important the information contained in your RSS feeds, the better.

Social bookmarks are not merit based, they are mostly self promotion. How long till Googs alogos stop counting them?

They actually stopped a while ago ;-)
Most social links are 'nofollow' and the ones that still in follow have little value for ranking sites.

I started easy in like building. I have used easysubmits in the past and got some links to my site, it was the first step. After that exchaging links was easier.

I suggest to use also social bookmarking sites, according to some seo specialists they are really powerful and give good seo effect. You can find plently of them and the more your posts appear on those sites the better effect it'll give. Good luck!

Do you think one should never exchange links with a website that has a lower PR than yours ?
And would it be correct if i say-
If you are building links with same anchor text, you need to double think on that because if you will use varied anchor text, chances are more of good Search Engine Rankings.
Please reply as i want to get these things clear.
