Is there any reliable map service for Ireland or do we have to rely on Google and / or Yahoo, which aren't exactly "amazing"?

Hi,

Anyone have any experience of integrating these into a website?

I have support for Google Maps on my website but it's pretty poor when it comes to mapping some point over the far side of County Mayo!!

Just wondering what the costs and practicalities of a decent solution are.

Regards,
Paul

OSI.ie just launched a mobile mapping service for symbian smart phones.

€29.95 for the cd-rom and they hope to roll out other maps shortly.

Also comes with 500 POIs for tourists and the like.

Announced today and nice to see an Irish organisation at the cutting edge.

I don't know anything about mapping or buying resources but I was very surprised to see that you cannot buy their digital products, you license them.
After two years you must pay 20% of the initial cost per year.
Just strange to me, I don't like the idea of being tied to a license for the data.
