Hi,

I would like to get some feedback for my little
web design portfolio site

Bear in mind I've only been doing web design for a year and I
am still learning all the time so you could say this is a beginners effort.

Its a good start, very simple.
You might want to check your RSS feeds you still have the standard Hello World post in there from WordPress
