    Hi guys

Client has a VPS from Blacknight running Parallels Panel. Can't find any mention of version but I imagine it's very recent.

I can't seem to enable SSH access to this. If I go to Login>Websites & Domains (Tab) > Web Hosting Access, I can see a setting called 'Access to server over SSH: Forbidden'

There's no way to enable this and I have the highest level admin rights.

    Any ideas?

If it's a Linux machine then it's on by default BUT you might need to check the firewall rules

You can check if the SSH server is running on your machine with:

    telnet yourserver.com 22

If you get a greeting like the one below, it's time to check for the daemon settings in the file "/etc/ssh/sshd_config". this is the place where password logins are enabled or disabled.

    daemon response:

    [ralph@laptop]~% telnet kerry-linux.ie 22
    Trying 88.198.39.247...
    Connected to kerry-linux.ie.
    Escape character is '^]'.
    SSH-2.0-OpenSSH_5.3
