Twitter Texts on Vodafone

Vodafone Ireland are now supporting Twitter txt / SMS notfications.

Sending is charged at normal SMS rate. Receiving is free.

I think O2 Ireland started offering support for it as well, though I'm not sure on the details

15000 tweets x what is it (roughly 10 cents) = 1500 quid

Obviously it'd be a once off type situation I'd guess once or twice a day ... and then again depending on what kinda plan you're on ... whether it matters or not

(500 tweets to your mobile a month limit .. fair use ... which would be good for dm's and @replies)

Well I only use it to receive - I don't send that often .. Most of the time I can use 3G or whatever to use echofon to send, but being able to receive direct messages from all and *some* "mentions" is handy

Ah was just having the iPhone benefits conversation with Paul a while ago ...

I guess I should set it up for DMs given I don't check gmail and twitter that often these days ... I'd probably leave out the @'s though they might be handy if I was away from the machine ... is there some way to not have @'s and DM's sent if you've viewed them via tweetdeck or something ?
