If I want to stream mp4 video from my site, what options are available.Do I need specific hosting for this? I would be interested in looking at alternatives in terms of video sharing site (but dont want ads)

mneylon Administrator Staff Member is very good and converts video into multiple formats for you
Vimeo also has a some options that are suitable for commercial use
You can, of course, self-host. You don't need "special" hosting, but you would need to make sure that you have a provider with good connectivity

I host some of the videos on directly, since I like not having to promote someone else's Youtube channel :) G.I. Joe Retaliation SuperBowl AdMovie & Film news pictures & video

Vimeo is likeable alright-their fees seem reasonable enough.Would it matter if I wasnt creating artistic/creative content?

Is video sharing easier with Youtube? I mean with embedding, link sharing etc. or can those things be done using vimeo and blip too?

Niallk - pretty much all the video hosting services have "sharing" built in
