In my workplace all ftp access is blocked
I've mulled over installing a web based file manager on my server but i'm not sure if it's a wise move. The risk is there that my entire servers contents and database can be hacked....

Has anyone here used a similar application?
I'm on PHP/MYSQL btw..

I have used them in the past, but not in any depth. I've never been that restricted
When I have been restricted due to firewalling I've used SSH tunnels to get around the issue

If you use cpanel, it has a great file manager, the only useful thing that app is for!

actually, if u just want ftp to edit your website and stuff, you could SSH into it and edit pages with vi or emacs or whatever, its what i do
