Its not a secret,I block Asia,in an attempt to block spam-not completely successfully though
Ive heard of others blocking Ukraine,Middle East etc

I have a Classified Ads website Ireland dedicated and after 6 mounths of SPAM ads I decide to block users from ASIA and AFRICA. How can africans sell goods in Ireland? Also, there are a lot of indians who post ads with jobs. That's the reason have bloked users from these countries.

I think its the biggest problem with user generated content,and I am reasonably sure the bulk of what Im deleting is submitted by software like Xrummer and Senuke
