Default Google Search - Did you mean....?

If you have an usually worded domain/search-term which throws up the 'Did you mean whatever'? phrase in Google, how does Google 'evolve' so that the search term gets seen as proper in their eyes.

Okay, that doesn't sound right. So here is an example.

Four years ago if you searched for 'Flickr', Google would reply with 'Did you mean flicker?' above the search results. But since flickr.com became a success this isn't happening. I know it's due to domain recognition and all that but does anyone know what the requirements are to remove 'Did you mean XYZ' from search terms?

I realise that for the most part people will be guessing at how to over come Google's snytax corrector but where there is logic...

According to: Google Help : Search Features

"Google's spell checking software automatically looks at your query and checks to see if you are using the most common version of a word's spelling. If it calculates that you're likely to generate more relevant search results with an alternative spelling, it will ask "Did you mean: (more common spelling)?". Clicking on the suggested spelling will launch a Google search for that term. Because Google's spell check is based on occurrences of all words on the Internet, it is able to suggest common spellings for proper nouns (names and places) that might not appear in a standard spell check program or dictionary.
"

Also, Adding a keyword to Google "Did you mean"

I did a bit of research on this a while back. Basically, the version that occurs on more indexed pages gets priority.

No problem, I know where you are coming from.

A search for "Search Engine Optimisation Ireland" on Google is a perfect example of this.

Annoying as hell.

May have something to do with this,

So, Google combines PageRank with sophisticated text-matching techniques to find pages that are both important and relevant to your search. Google goes far beyond the number of times a term appears on a page and examines all aspects of the page's content (and the content of the pages linking to it) to determine if it's a good match for your query.
Taken from Google Technology.
