| Just saw this on Google Maps. Not sure how new it is but you can now create your own maps, add your own places markers, draw lines and shapes, etc. The only thing it is missing is to be able to embed the created map into your own website easily. Here's the map I just created: Google Maps To try it out, go to Google Maps and select My Maps on the left hand side. Nice feature!

| What I was saying is that Google now has a tool that allows you to build a map with markers, lines, shapes, html, etc. and share it with others. They are not offering the ability to just take the link and embed it in your own pages easily, which would be nice. Instead, I use the Google Maps API and JS to manually draw the map, icons, etc. but it would be nice to build a map with an application and then just get a link that you could embed in your own page and it would display the lovely map that you made. There is probably apps out there like the one you pointed out but I was specifically talking about this new Google tool that doesn't seem to support embeding of you saved map into a page. However, I might have missed it! Dave |
