Does anybody know where I could get an off-the-shelf connection speed test? Something along the lines of Irish ISP Test.

Well something simple that requires minimal (or no) root access to the server. If there was a simple Flash widget or something, that would be great. But a Java one a la IrishISPTest would be fine I suppose.

There's a couple of free ones out there that you can download. They're not as accurate as the Java based ones, but they're a hell of a lot cheaper

MySpeed Internet speed test software, broadband speed tester is the vendor.
The licence is quite expensive. I approached a Java developer on scriptlance to write a similar application at a fraction of the cost but the deal broke down in the 11th hour.
