| Hey, we're about to make the big move to a 2.0 version of our site, and as a result a lot of URL's will change, mostly from being .htm to .aspx. Obviously a 301 redirect on each of the old pages is the solution. But what about the pages that have permanent redirects to them, that i need to redirect one step further to the new URL, i.e. on the old site theres a redirect from A -> B, but i now need both A and B to the new url C. Do i stop the redirect from A -> B and go A -> C and B -> C, or would it be better to just go B -> C since A is redirecting to B anyway? I know changing permanent redirects is not advised but i dont have any other option really. Thanks. |

| I presume the original set of redirects were added in order to get Google et al to spider the new content at the time. They *should* have picked up on that, so you should be adding redirects from the current content to the new content
