Default ASP2.0 or Ruby On Rails?

I need your help to choose - shall I buy hosting on Linux, with PHP, Ruby On Rails (FastCGI) and MySQL 4 or on Windows, with ASP 2.0, PHP and MySQL 5? Other parameters are equal (windows one is cheaper a bit).. I know only basics of both RoR and ASP2.0...well..help me

It really really really depends on what you want...

All things being equal, I would go the Linux route, as I like Linux.

There's probably more jobs on the ASP side of things though...

well...I know very well C/C++ and I'm familiar with .NET...
I don't want to make something special, just for trying, learning, little blogging...

There aren't that many blogging solutions on windows - I've only come across one or two

On linux you can choose from a wide selection and Movable Type 4 is due to be released VERY soon

most of blogging solutions are written in PHP, which is avaiable on both linux and windows, isn't it?
Mentioned MT is written in Perl - also avaiable for both platforms.
And there is no fun with blogging on ready-to-use system

If you're happy to write your own system I guess it won't make any difference.. but that would put you in a minority
