I should be getting ready for christmas with the kids but instead im getting driven demented by african scammers on one of my sites. Its the normal crap about dead uncles worth millions and how they need help to get the money.

I have htacces and thought i had most of them blocked but ive not.

Does anyone have a list of ip ranges that you block from nigeria, cote d ivory ect that you can share with me.

the latest ones i got are 41.207.217.0 - 41.207.217.255 with 41.207.217.237 being very persistant i have just deleted 50+ messages to members from mysql.

I thing they have a db that you can download.

I'm also getting a large amount of message spam on one of my Wordpress sites (the one with the least visits, rather strangely). After two weeks of naming everything as spam and bulk deleting, I'm wondering what to do. I notice a lot of the IPs are in Russia.

Just to reply to myself, the Akismet plug-in had been deactivated during a Wordpress upgrade, which was letting the spam through. Duh! That's the equivalent of ringing the help desk when you haven't plugged in the cable.
