Default Copyright violation

I came across an Irish company using one of our photographs on their website. I've been in touch with them through their contact form thanking them for their interest in our work and requesting a contact email that I can forward an appropriate invoice to.

Haven't heard anything back yet and I don't get the feeling I will. Has anyone been in this boat before where their work (imagery, text etc) has been used without their permission and what is the standard proceedure?

I've had a copyright problem recently only worse than a photo Website Copied

We sent an email requesting that all copyright material be removed immediately or we would initiate legal proceedings. The guy then called us trying to legitimize his site saying it was only 20% copied or something. Can you believe the ignorance? Anyway they've since made some changes but some of it is still the same. At the moment we're busy with other things so it's on the back burner for the moment.

There was a thread over on boards about a paper using a guys photo without permission ...

Their general response seemed to be send in an invoice for the photo.

Failing this initiate legal proceedings the lawyer taking care of it all as well as getting their money on top of the cost of your invoice

no time to check up on the thread just at the moment
