| I have about 120 sites on IIS, and I need a decent stats package that can provide each of my clients with their own stats, and still be secure enough to stop snooping by the other clients. I got what I thought was a reasonable quote for WebTrends, but it turned out to be a 1M page view annual price instead of the 1M monthly price. Obviously, 1M views on an annual basis ain't gonna last too long, but anyway, I also have about 5 years of old stats I want to crunch and do year-on-year comparisons etc. WebTrends want to charge me for all the page views for the old stuff as if I bought it 5 years ago and paid them every month since (kinda like what CheckPoint do with FW-1). Anyways, the bottom line is that, nice and all as WebTrends is, the "real" price is far higher than expected, and if I'd known that on day 1, I wouldn't have bothered with them. Any recommendations for a replacement? TIA. |

| I've always liked Urchin and Google are releasing a new version (currently in beta): Urchin Software from Google Michele was doing some tests with it recently and blogged about it. I got a little play with it too... really nice. Michele Neylon :: Pensieri: Search Results Other one I know of is Unica's Web Analytics Solution - NetInsight and that was quite good. I hate WebTrends. Never liked their stats program. Hope those help. Rgds, Dave

| I was testing Urchin on Linux, so I've no idea of how good or bad it might be with IIS logs. I presume that it wouldn't be that different, though I've no idea how well the software works on a Windows machine. You can grab a beta copy to play with ... Another one I was looking at was Log file analysis | firewall management | mail server analysis: sawmill - primarily because it's very flexible and they actually have real humans answering the phones
