The only site I have that would generate enough hits is a Mambo site. I'm trying to figure a way of putting the right JS link on each page. So far I have it working on one page and it seems great - just need to wait for more visitors before I can tell much. Also seems like it would suit a site where your curious about what links are click - an ad site or a content site des

I've been trying this out, and it is great. It's not really that much use if you have a bog standard text/menu site as the navigation is predictable anyway. But if the page contains multiple links scattered around the place then it is ace. I tried it out on a couple of sites and the results were amazing. After a couple of hours on http://www.jackandjill.ie I got the following.... Many thanks for the heads-up.

I have been trying it out the last couple of weeks. It is great.

As a result of this post, I've been trying it out the past 2 days. I have to say, the heat maps are really cool and has given me some pretty cool insights into 5 of my sites homepages. I think I'm going to upgrade.

Google Analytics does this, more or less.

No, GA does NOT provide visual heatmaps. It provides overlays, but not heatmaps. clickdensity - website heat maps for usability and information architecture is the only other outfit that provides this that I know of.

Yeah I heard about these guys a few months back and signed up to be notified when they went live. Put the code into one of our sites and was chuffed to see where people actually were drawn to on pages. Really valuable tool and we plan to upgrade soon.

| These aren't really heat-maps - just overlays based on click tracking. So, in effect, they are offering a graphical representation of the data sumerised in Google Analyitcs. Unless they actually attach an distinct event listener to every link element this app will suffer from the same shortcomings of GA - the inability to differentiate between multiple on-page links to the same resource (unless you manually attach an urchin event to the element). This sevie doesn't tell you anything about what visitors look at, just where they click. Take care not to mix this up with heat maps that track eyeballs.
